Major Past Projects

Health Clinic Roof Replacement

The Clinic roof was termite eaten and needed to be completely replaced, we came together to raise the money ($25,000 USD) and the project was completed (December, 2019). Local contractor Sergio Sinhue Santos Miranda and his crew did excellent work on this project. This project created an impetus to address some other needs in the clinic including installing new flooring, counters, and cabinetry, installing air conditioning and upgrading the plumbing and electrical systems. In addition the clinic was fully painted including a couple of beautiful new murals by local artists. The majority of this work was completed by volunteer Rotarians and friends.

Recycle Centers

Proper waste disposal is an ongoing challenge in the Mulegé area including at the Bahia Concepcion beaches. To make a positive impact on the total amount of garbage going into landfills, Mulegé Rotary Club has installed recyling collection centers where resident and visitors alike can deposit recylables which are then transported to a recyler in Loreto. There are now 7 station locations. This work has been made possible in part by a grant from the Merced Rotary Club, and operations are sustained through donations made by users.

Water Pila

Completed in 2019, the water pila (tank) project spanned several years and was made possible by a cooperation between the Bend Mt. Bachelor Rotary Club, Mulegé Rotary Club and SAPA (local water company). The water pila will be integrated into the existing municipal architecture and will help ensure water availability for the community of Heroica Mulegé.
